Reiki
What is it like? Peaceful and relaxing~The energy will flow through the practitioner to you or animal, even from a distance. The effects of Reiki vary from person to person. Most individuals experience deep relaxation. One may feel warmth or a tingling sensation, or maybe nothing out of the ordinary. Reiki is safe, non-invasive and pain-free. We honor our clients privacy. All discussions and client information are kept confidential. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions.
I am a Christian and concerned about Reiki and my beliefs. Please refer to this link for further information. www.christianreiki.org/info/FAQ.htm
Is Reiki a type of religion and will Reiki interfere with my religious beliefs? No, Reiki is not a religion. It is a form of energy healing. Reiki is universal and spiritual in nature. Reiki is for everyone, every living thing. Reiki comes from and is love and light. Reiki can never harm or be used to harm anyone or or any living thing. Reiki honors and accepts all religions and spiritual choices. Reiki greatly improves the quality of life and helps us to help ourselves and others. Many say and feel that Reiki brings them closer to the Divine creator. You don't have to be religious or of any certain religious background to receive or practice Reiki.
What are the benefits of Reiki? Some of the benefits include: stress reduction and relaxation, feeling peaceful and calm, being able to better manage your emotions, reduced anxiety, pain relief, increased energy, improved vitality, improved sleep, improvement of health related issues and physical problems, helps with dissolving negative behaviors and patterns, better flow of energy within the charkas (energy centers). Reiki also initiates and helps one with spiritual development and spiritual healing on your life path.
Combining Reiki with hypnotherapy is wonderful for healing more difficult or deeper issues, overcoming obstacles and for spiritual healing and enlightenment.
Please talk to your practitioner about any concerns you have. We are happy to answer any questions.
Hypnotherapy
What is a session like? First, your therapist will sit down and discuss with you what to expect, the changes you want to make and any concerns you have. You will then be gently and gradually guided through the relaxation process and experience the session. You will be able to remember what you experience. During hypnosis, you are in a very relaxed state rather than a “trance” type of state. Some people are able to go deeper easier but you will still be very aware, able to speak and answer your practitioner, able to hear things around you but the outside noise won’t bother you because you are focused and relaxed.
During the session, the client is always in control. The power lies within oneself. The therapist acts as a guide, similar to being a chauffer on your trip. If you are ever uncomfortable or scared, just tell your therapist. We feel it is not necessary for clients to re-live anything traumatic. We can go past it, similar to fast forwarding, and then move beyond it.
As is true with Reiki, Hypnotherapy is also not dependent upon one’s own religious or spiritual beliefs.
Hypnotherapy has all the same wonderful benefits of Reiki, as well as gets to the root cause of issues quicker. It can initiate and help with spiritual development, the path to enlightenment and with spiritual healing.
All client information and discussions are private and kept confidential.
Can anyone be hypnotized? Yes, almost everyone can be hypnotized. If you are able to “space-out” or daydream, then you are able to be hypnotized. Actually, each person hypnotizes themselves- we are simply a guide. Most people don’t realize that we automatically go into the hypnotic state many times during the day. For example, while we are driving, watching TV, surfing the internet, listening to music, meditating, daydreaming or doing daily activities we enjoy & are used to. The easier you are able to relax and do these things, then the easier time you will have falling into hypnosis. Visual and intuitive individuals also tend to have an easier time with hypnosis.
The only exceptions are:
If one is on certain medications or drugs that effect the nervous system, having certain medical or mental conditions that may interfere or compromise one’s ability to think, speak or comprehend, not being able to speak English, if one is determined not to be hypnotized.
*If you have epilepsy or a heart condition, or any condition you feel raises concern, you may not be a candidate for hypnosis. Please call us with any questions.
Will I lose control during the session? Absolutely not. The client is always in control. You will never be “stuck” in hypnosis or unable to get out of the hypnotic state, either. If you ever feel uncomfortable during the session, simply let your therapist know.
What if I have a hard time or can’t be hypnotized? Feeling you can’t be hypnotized may be a fear or issue related to control or just fear of the unknown. We can work with that by taking baby steps. Some people may have performance anxiety also. We don’t force anything upon you and the whole hypnosis process is simpler than many think. If you do find hypnosis to be somewhat challenging, it may help to know that the more times the client and therapist work together, the easier it gets and you will be on your way to making the changes your heart desires. If you truly desire to change, you can be hypnotized. Another thing that will help is actively practicing relaxation techniques to calm the mind- such as meditation, listening to soothing music and slow, deep breathing.
Are you going to try and control my mind or make me do things? No, we will never make you do anything you don’t want to do- as fun as it sounds! (Haha-just kidding of course) While some may picture an image of a wild-eyed, mystical person swinging a pendulum and chanting, “You will now talk and act like a Gorilla,” hypnotherapy is not like that. There are a lot of misconceptions out there and the media does not portray hypnotists accurately. Just looking on TV, you find some programs or movies where you see hypnotists putting people in a trance and having them do crazy things or acting out things dramatically, so it’s understandable to be leery. Those types of hypnotists are using hypnosis strictly for entertainment purposes only. (And the media really does not have a good understanding about it as of yet!)
We use hypnosis ONLY for therapeutic purposes. We have been through extensive training and education and want to see our clients heal and empower themselves. The positive suggestions and affirmations we put together are in the client’s own words.
Also, if you truly did not want to do something or say something under hypnosis you wouldn’t. Simple as that. The ego is still involved in hypnosis on some level.
On another note, we can't make anyone do anything for themselves, because a person has to be willing to change and desire to be part of it. For example, someone's spouse asks about making their loved one stop smoking. We are happy to help but can't stop the loved one's smoking habit if he or she doesn't want to. As nice as it would be to wave a magic hypnosis wand, it doesn't work that way. One can have the best hypnotherapist in the world but he or she can't make a client change because the individual's free will exists.
*People should be cautious of any hypnotherapist who makes claims or promises they can make you do something.
What can I do to ensure a good session? It helps to be honest with yourself and what you feel you need to work on. We all have our own issues to work through, so we are here to tell you it's ok to have them! :) Just be open to whatever you may experience and try not to expect too much. High expectations or worry about doing the process "right" can put added pressure on the self, which may interfere with or block whatever you need to experience. What each individual experiences will be valuable and help in some way. Healing is a process.
Practicing meditation and relaxation methods are also beneficial. Being calm and able to relax, let go makes it easier for a person to go into the hypnotic state. Try to avoid caffeine for a few hours before your session. And if there is anything you feel you need to discuss with or ask your therapist, we are happy to do so.
What if I fall asleep? Usually, that won’t happen because you are in the state of hypnosis similar to that before falling asleep. However, if you do happen to snooze, the therapist will wake you up and we try again later.
Will I remember everything? Yes. Because you are aware and awake in a relaxed state, you will remember what you experience in the session. You will also remember other lives because the subconscious knows all and knows where to go.
Do I have to believe in past lives? No. However, it helps to just go with what you experience. Whether you believe in past lives or not, whatever you experience will be valuable because it is a way for your subconscious to try and heal something.
What about Insurance coverage? Some insurance plans will cover hypnosis or reimburse you (or part of the amount) if you have a prescription from your doctor. We can’t guarantee this so talk to your insurance provider and your doctor to make sure. We can fill out a claim form to submit to your insurance provider.
Still have questions? Please contact us anytime! We look forward to hearing from you.
