For many, the challenging times and changes Earth is facing now may not feel so comforting.  2009 was a big year; one of releasing and letting go of the old, while 2010 has been and will continue to be a year of great manifestation for many.  While we are in the process of release and healing, much can feel tumultuous around us. 

That's where our crystal friends come in to help and assist us.  Crystals are wonderful tools for healing.  They can't do the work for us, but can help us on our path in so many amazing ways, plus aid healing on multiple  levels. They can smooth the process for us, help us to feel peaceful, bring us courage and protect us. 

Every healer has their own personal favorites.  My list could go on and on here (laughs)  Below are some that "pop out" to me when it comes to assisting us during times of change and transitions.  Simply keep tumbled stones with you in a pouch or pocket, wear them as jewelry or work with them in meditation and by laying  them on your body and chakras.  Please keep in mind that while one crystal may work great for one person, it may not as much for another.  This is simply because everyone's energy and vibration is unique, so different stones will appeal and work in their own special way for each individual.  Go with the ones you feel drawn to- even those not on this list.  There really is no "wrong" choice! 

Agates:  Particularly Banded agates, Turitella agate- Agates are grounding stones and offer a very comforting energy. They help obtain a better physical/emotional balance. They work to raise consciousness and help build self-confidence. Banded Agates are strong protectors, reinforcing your strength and providing protection if you are very sensitive. They help one who needs extra courage or energy to face challenges and stressful circumstances.

Turitella agate is an agate with fossils within, such as snail shells.  It is a protective stone and aids one in being open to change and new ideas. Use turitella agate to help you eliminate any superiority/inferiority complex.  (In the kingdom of God/Goddess/Spirit, everyone is equal.)  Physically, turitella agate reduces fatigue and benefits the stomach and digestion. 

Other types of agates are: blue lace agate, moss agate, botswana agate, apricot agate, tree/dendritic agate, fire agate and crazy lace agate among many others...

Smoky quartz: is an excellent stone for removing negativity and negative energy of any kind and transforming it to positive energy. It is also a very protective and grounding stone, drawing down light from the crown chakra to the root chakra.  It aids one into alpha state/meditative state while grounding at the same time.  Smoky quartz is calming and aids pain reduction.  Great stone to have on you or wear during times of stress or during big transitions.  Emotionally, smoky quartz is excellent for elevating moods, overcoming negative emotions, and relieving depression.  Smoky quartz is also excellent for dealing with hyperactivity, and attention deficit disorder.  Smoky quartz has so many wonderful properties- too many to list on this page! ;)  Note: some types of smoky quartz have been irradiated (the kind that look almost black)  It has it's own benefits but overall, natural smoky quartz is the best to use.  

Labradorite is known as the stone of Celestial Light.  Because of its iridescent flashes of blue, green, yellow or red, it has also been called the E.T. stone and will help you connect with Celestial/Star beings.  For anyone who fears change or has a difficult time with change, this is a great stone to have with you and work with.  It helps with coping with changes & fears associated with them.  It also aids the soul on the ascension path.  Labradorite is highly protective and prevents energy leakages from the aura.  When you are doing emotional release work, it will ensure that the emotions are not reabsorbed into the energy field.  Labradorite is grounding and aids codependency, helps heal addictions and assists with weight reduction.  A wonderful stone for intuitive insight, it will bring problems to light, bringing messages from the subconscious as well as repressed memories from past lives.   

Charoite- Charoite is a beautiful purple colored stone that can have flecks of silver, white or black in it.  It comes from Russia and is stone of transformation which will help all in this new age.  It is a great stone to have in times of life transitions and major changes, helping us through them and when we feel fearful.  Charoite works well with the heart and crown chakras and fosters tolerance and forgiveness.  Place under your pillow for peaceful sleep and to guard against nightmares.   It helps speed up all kinds of healing.  Charoite is protective and emanates much light energy. It overcomes deep fears, activates inner vision, cleans the aura and produces deep emotional and physical healing.  Charoite grounds the spiritual self. It opens the heart, transmutes negativity, and releases stress and worry. It also helps overcome compulsions and obsessions.

Snow quartz- Snow quartz (also called milky quartz or quartzite) has a gentle and soothing energy that helps stabilize changes and aids us in letting go of limitations and responsibilities that have become overwhelming.  It also helps dissolve any martyr type tendencies.  We all have to learn the lesson of letting go of others and helping ourselves; this stones allows us to do so and helps us in accepting others, allowing for a more open and peaceful attitude for loved ones to walk their own path.  Snow Quartz has most of Clear Quartz Crystal's properties, but it performs them gentler. It is useful to bring out our cooperation and tact when we need it. It is a very good gemstone to have around when we are learning the lessons necessary in this lifetime.

 OceanJasper-  Ocean jasper may also be known as orbicular jasper.  It comes in a wide variety of colors and has little circular orbs on it.  Ocean Jasper is very soothing and helps with self love as well as loving others. It has a very joyful energy and aids healing of the emotions, bringing peace of mind. It aids service to others, helps with acceptance of responsibility and increases patience. The circulars patterns on ocean jasper symbolize circular breathing and help us realize that we are all interconnected and nature is a cyclical pattern. Being a type of jasper, it is a very protective stone.  Physically, ocean jasper is beneficial to the digestion, digestive organs, and aids removing toxins from the body.  It brings healing to the cells of the body.  Ocean Jasper resonates with the heart chakra. 

Nebula stone: Nebula stone was discovered in 1995 by Ron and Karen Nurnberg in a remote mountain region of Mexico. It is sometimes referred to as "The Birthstone of The Cosmos" and contains a rare combination of Quartz, Aegirine, Riebeckite, Anorthoclase, Acmite, Calcite and Zircon, Arfedsonite and other minerals "With numerous (microscopic) terminated Quartz Prisms (points) in the matrix"  Nebula stone is very grounding and increases vitality.  It represents a window to the Cosmos, revealing the connection between the light force to the Heavens, the Earth and all beings.  This stone is useful in times of tragedy, confusion and despair, helping one to remember kindnesses and reflect upon the positives.  It encourages kindness to self. Nebula stone frees the mind from bondage, facilitating invention, discovery and courage to undertake adventure.  Nebula Stone removes fear, and helps one let go of the old to make room for the new.

Pink stones are also great if you are in need of comfort and to help with keeping that loving vibration up.  Pink is a very soothing and healing color for the emotions and  the heart, and pink stones will help also with emotional healing.  They foster peace and nurturing, as well as bring in and emanate unconditional love energy.  Some lovely pink stones are: rose quartz, mangano calcite (pink calcite) thulite and rhodochrosite.
